With nearly twenty years as a duo, Lisa Sanders and Karen "Brown Sugar" Hayes will leave you feeling steeped in deep musical meaning and soulful bliss.

Lisa Sanders was born in Philidelphia, Pennsilvania, and moved to Newfouldland, Canada, as a child and then to southern California where she and "Brown Suger" Karen Hayes reside presently. Karen "Brown Sugar" Hayes hails from the Bronx, New York, where she spent her growing years until she moved with her parents to San Diego. Lisa and Karen, after 34 years together, tied the knot two years ago, making their duo more deeply connected.

Lisa was inducted into the San Diego Music Hall of Fame on November 5, 2021, as they understood she is a hidden treasure. Lisa's songs are featured on the 2nd Season of the NBC / Peacock series Babble Bop. Lisa is also a two-time San Diego Music Best Acoustic Artist and has nine albums and a tenth album on its way.

Lisa's newest project is an upcoming release, " Daughters of the Rising Tide," a full-length album co-written and produced by JT Nero of the Birds of Chicago. Grammy award-winning artist Allison Russell makes a special guest appearance on three songs. Daughters of the Rising Tide is projected to be released in late 2025 - 2026.

To this day, Lisa Sanders and Brown Sugar continue to make an impact in the musical world. Lisa Sanders has worked with musical legends, including Lucinda Williams, Steve Poltz, Allison Russell, Bonnie Raitt, Al Green, BB King, and the list goes on. Recently, as a member of the Black Opry., she has understood the power of music and how it connects us.
